A ramble through Anna's brain...

Steampunk University is tomorrow and as you can see, I'm all set!  Since Nate is off to PAX (Penny Arcade for you out-of-towners) and my play ends tonight, I needed something to top off my weekend sans hubby.
I was going to ramble on about quilts or new dressers or new projects but for some odd reason my computer won't upload new pictures the day of upload.  It's like it can't see them at all.  When I open the photo viewer they are there, safe and sound, but should I desire to put them on the interwebs for you fine people, something some where throws a hissy fit and denies me out of spite.
Tonight I take pictures of the costumes I put together for Bertie and I hope some of them turn out nicely. I need them for a portfolio I put together at the end of the year so I am rather excited.

In other news I sliced open my poor little ring finger.  You can almost make out the bandage (left hand). I was cutting up some bread for lunch and despite all my training in how to use knives or perhaps it got stuck, the knife slipped and sliced a small gouge into my poor little finger.  It's fine, just a cut.  Yes I have been keeping it hyper clean, no I'm not going to get one insignificant stitch.  It'll heal and I will have another kitchen battle scar to prove my culinary worth.

So it's on to sipping coffee today and some sewing, oh and movies!  Netflix brought me goodies yesterday.  Wall-E, Gaslight, and Showgirls.  I know, odd collection but would you expect anything less from me?  No, you shouldn't.

Slowly . . .

It seems that I should be more excited about my life at present, but with the onset of a nasty throat/head cold I find myself only wishing to sleep.
Monday night I landed my first "I did it all by myself" theatre gig with a company called Breathing Space Ministries. No, wait- Nate found the gig, but I landed it. Credit where credit is due.
Breathing Space is doing a show about one woman's journey towards knowing Christ as a series of "episodes". This being episode one, and the others not yet written, it's going to be an interesting experience. Rehearsals are in full swing right now, and because of my cold I haven't gotten to one yet. Tomorrow night if I'm feeling up to it, or Friday night, for sure.
It was the first time in an interview situation that I felt utterly confidant of myself and my abilities. It was amazing. At one point the director and the writer looked at each other and said, in hushed stage whispers, "I like her. We should hire her."
"Me too. Let's."
Then they look at me, smile and say, "So,do you want the job?"

Heh. Do I? Of course! It doesn't pay, but it's an outside credit for my resume before I go off to school in the fall. The more I can get under my belt in the real world, the more I believe school will take me.

For now, I'm taking it easy, drinking LOADS of water and hot tea, and eating soup, like the Pho steaming away at the top. So I'm off for now, my dears. Take care!

FO: Tonk's Bolero

I know the pictures are crappy, and beg your forgiveness and understanding. :0)

There isn't really a pattern for this, just lots of vague notes. I really need to get better ones. Heh.

I made this especially for my Halloween costume, but I'm not sure I'd ever wear it again, I don't know yet. I'm thinking of posting it on my etsy, so if you're interested, let me know!

I'm now in a play due to some other people quitting (blech!) so I find myself with copious amounts of lines to memorize! Whee!
